How to Get to Pretty Marsh

There are a number of airports in the area, and rental cars/taxis are available at each. Taxis are generally not available on the island, and a car is a necessity. Here are the approximate drive times from the various airports (not including stops).

Bar Harbor/Trenton (20 minute drive)
Bangor (1 hour drive)
Portland (2.5 hour drive)
Boston (5 hours)

By Car

We are about a 5 hour drive from Boston, either up I-95 North to Bangor and then South to Mount Desert Island or Coastal Rtes. 1 or 3, which are more scenic but sometimes only one lane. If you drive, you can stop at LL Bean and other outlet stores in Freeport as well as picturesque towns like Camden.

By Bus

There is a bus station in Bangor with regular service to/from Boston and other locations.
